Around 25% of new truck drivers will probably not even make it through trucking school. Of the 75% that do 40% will not make it 3 months driving a truck over the road. 80% of whatever is left will work for low wages in an indentured servitude type of environment and will probably not last a year in trucking. The 20% that is left, which is a handful, could end up like me!
The trucking industry is brutal and it chews up and spits out new drivers with no remorse daily. Only a highly motivated, ambitious, determined, go –getter can do what I did. If you are the type of person who always wins and will not accept defeat keep reading! If you are just average and do not excel at anything you do in life now is probably a good time to leave this site.
I got into the trucking industry and did very well in trucking school. In trucking school I watched as they sent other students home every other day knowing the students just got ripped off. The trucking company school would soon be billing them for the training they did receive. Most trucking company schools over book there classes just passing the best students for the amount of positions they have available. I worked for that trucking company for 3 months at bottom of the barrel wages.
The trucking company made several verbal promises to me over the phone when I was recruited. They did not live up to a single one of them and I did not have a leg to stand with nothing in writing. I was very angry at myself for not being more thorough and used my anger to focus on getting one of the best trucking jobs in the trucking industry in the fastest time possible. I did it in 3 months. I was told by many that you need 3 years experience or 5 years experience by others. Even many company websites said that you needed that much experience to get hired. Other drivers said you will never get that job with so little experience or that you have to know somebody to get in. I did not listen to any of these negative statements or people and I did what I set out to do as usual. If you think you might have what it takes to do what I did keep reading.

legitimate trucking information. A new truck driver will

immediately by trucking recruiters, break-in companies, trucking
schools and disgruntled

it out after wasting years

After going
through the process of trying to gather trucking information, going to
a
truck driver training school,
and then driving a truck over the road myself, I have witnessed it all
first hand. I then stumbled into the truck driving job I have now and

I had been given along the way. It frustrated me and I

I went to a trucking school
under the assumption that, as a truck driver, I would be
away from home for 2-3 weeks at a time and maybe make 30-35 cents a
